Modern Adventurer

Oliver Foran is an Australian mountaineer, adventurer, mental health advocate and a keynote speaker who shares powerful lessons in resilience, leadership and mental strength drawn from extreme expeditions. He chooses demanding, human powered expeditions not for spectacle, but as platforms to drive real world impact.

With a background in business and a disciplined approach to preparation, Oliver treats adventure like enterprise. Structured, accountable and outcome focused. His climbing and endurance projects in the Himalaya and beyond are shaped by risk awareness, teamwork and the mental composure required when pressure is high and margins are thin.

His storytelling is grounded in lived experience. Not triumph for its own sake, but honest reflections on fear, responsibility and the internal battles that come long before any summit. That perspective underpins his mission through Climbing for Young Minds, an expedition platform that raises funds and awareness for youth mental health initiatives.

He lives by a simple belief: if you do not seek challenge, challenge will seek you.

Sea to Summit World Record Attempt

On 1 April 2026, I will leave the coast of India and attempt to reach the summit of Mount Everest in 60 days, entirely under human power. No motors. No shortcuts. Every metre of altitude earned.

The route covers 1,150 km of cycling across India and Nepal, 150 km of trekking through the Himalaya, an acclimatisation climb on Mera Peak, and a final summit push on Everest, the highest point on Earth at 8,849 metres.

This is not just an athletic challenge. It is a platform. Every kilometre I ride and every metre I climb raises funds and awareness for youth mental health through Climbing for Young Minds. Because if a young person can see that even the darkest valley has a sunlit summit, that matters.
